Product Parameters:

Corrosion resistance
Monel 400 alloys excel in a wide range of corrosive environments, particularly in seawater and chloride attack. Its high nickel and copper content gives it excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of acids, alkalis and brines. Although Monel 400 is less resistant to some strong oxidizing acids , it still performs well with reducing media such as hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. The alloy is subjected to appropriate heat treatment during manufacture to ensure optimum resistance to stress corrosion cracking in harsh environments.

Heat Resistance
Monel 400 alloy offers good resistance to oxidation, but its structural stability decreases at elevated temperatures, especially above 540°C. Therefore, caution should be exercised in high temperature applications. Therefore, caution should be exercised in high temperature applications.

Heat Treatment
Monel 400 can be enhanced by solution heat treatment (typically between 1000 and 1100°C), followed by rapid cooling to ensure optimum physical properties.
